Drawing: Portrait of Marc
Well, what did you expect? I’ve never been one for much besides figure drawing; the human form is immensely challenging and what I enjoy drawing most.
In honour of my very good friend Marc who is abroad in Taipei, I present this portrait to let him know he’s still very much in our thoughts and hearts. Though it may still be another year before we see him again on this side of the Pacific, I haven’t forgotten what a true, loyal friend he’s been to me and my family. Cheers, mang.
Suddenly I start worrying that the only probably pics you have of me may be from 10 years ago.
Very nice work, tho! No idea how you do it, but you do it well.
I’d like to do a series of friends and family, to be sure. You’re safe for a day or two, though; my grandfather passed away last night so I might draw one of him tonight if I have time and remember a bit.
That said, If you have a more recent pic to send, now might be a good time.
You challenge me to call you a bastard, but preface it with sad news. That’s massively crappy about your grandfather. I think the word is condolences, and that’s what we send to you. I only vaguely remember my grandfathers dying, and the memory still isn’t pleasant. Not that it would be joyous, but you get the idea.
You should take some time off. Okay, I know… my gift to you: you don’t have to do a pic of me!

There are some adorable photographs from the wedding of father/daughter if I remember correctly :) Not quite 10 years ago, but not quite recent either.

Thanks, Adrienne. It was sad news but at least it didn’t come as a sudden thing that caught us off guard. I hope he’s at peace, and I appreciate your comments (and Michel’s call!) immensely. You know we both miss you guys terribly, too.
MCM, you’re not getting off the hook that easily. I’m pretty sure I have a few all-right photos of Michel and Adrienne around, too … Everyone will get “the treatment” sooner or later, I imagine. ;)
